The critically acclaimed Irish documentary “So This Is Christmas,” directed by award-winning filmmaker Ken Wardrop, is ready to make its Madrid debut on December 12, 2024.
The screening might be held on the Cines Princesa close to Plaza España, as a part of its Spanish tour, which debuted final week in Barcelona.
The movie which presents audiences a poignant exploration of the vacation season’s complexities delves into the lives of 5 people in a small Irish village, every grappling with private challenges through the festive interval.
The documentary gives a heart-warming and, at instances, heart-rending portrayal of resilience and the true essence of Christmas. Irish broadcaster RTÉ, stated the movie “lands like a punch to the intestine,” providing a “must-watch artistic documentary, heart-breaking and heart-warming in equal measure.”
The movie had its world premiere on the Cork Worldwide Movie Competition on November 10, 2023, and opened in Irish cinemas on November 17, 2023. It has since garnered crucial acclaim, with the Sunday Impartial (Eire) stating, “The idea with any movies themed round Christmas is they may turn into seasonal staples.
